SYNC SAPRO (B. 1988) is a NYC sound artist obsessed with expansive, heavy drone, abstract post-industrial textures, the outer fringes of the sonic frequency range, and the psycho-physiological effects of aural phenomenon. With a penchant for the elemental, mutated, and surreal, she is perpetually refining her relationship to sound as a vehicle for accessing catharsis and transcendence. She has performed and has shown her work in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, and New York City. For the past 3 years she and her collaborator Octonomy have been curating Outersonics: a quadraphonic ritualistic live performance series based in NYC that highlights women working in the outer limits of drone, dark ambient, noise & other flavors of experimental sound. She recently started her own label and multi-media imprint called Spectral Affect focusing on experimental sound, writing, visual art & ideas from an outsider femme perspective.
